CINEMA SOLORIENS-FILM PROGRAMS BY JAMES HARRAR

I have been working with the moving image since 1989, which is a small spark in the tradition of cinema. I am happy and fortunate to share a relationship with this special discipline. My films are often meditations on beauty, perception, allegory, sensuality and visual phenomenon. I strive to reacquaint the viewer with the moment of becoming aware of witnessing something - perhaps capture the essence of visual thought that is empty of fixed meaning.

JAPAN TOUR-DAY ONE TOKYO, YO!

We are here! Me and Robert split HOT-lanta (we left with d. at 4:30AM with it being freakin' 90 degrees without the sun being up!

Met up with Marshall in Chicago.

We slept on and off, slipping in and out of conscience the whole way to 14 hrs. of airtime to Narita. It was easy goin. Alot of Americans and Canadians on board, suprisingly.

I had me earplugs, wearing shades to cut out the light-Robert doing a Norma Desmond too.

Times I would wake up and have no idea where I was.

This baby was in our aisle, cute litter bear but would scream on and off, waking me and Marshall up thinking the whole plane is comin down!

The plane was sooo dry, you could feel your skin tighten.

We got here at 3:30. Dashed through customs. They asked plenty of questions...not so much what we have but what kind of music do we play? where are you gonna play? southamerican music? very nice.

greeted by mike. he helped us to take a 2 hour bus ride into tokyo. then a double taxi to the hotel. sweet tokyo. feels like we come here every year. very familiar.

we are goofing, chattin riding out the exhaustion and watching the world cup.

soooo tired. feels like the ground is moving under me. but lovin it all.

night time walk through tokyo lights, walkin and jivin.

lotsa stories.

back to room to chance into yakuta robes.

ready for some sleep.
